A Message from
the Mayor |
 |
First, I want to tell you how
honored I am to be your Mayor. I
am humbled by your support and
faith in me to lead this great
city. I promise to honor you all
in my pledge to lead and to
represent Waleska always in the
best interest of its citizens.
We are off to a running start.
Our first Council Meeting
reflected very positive plans in
the months and years to come.
I wish to share with you a few
of my ideas. One of my
most proud beginnings is that of
a newsletter that will be called
‘Waleska Cares’. This
newsletter will be sent out to
you every month with your water
bill. This will let you
know what is happening in
Waleska.
This, my second year in office
as your Mayor, I continue to
feel honored and privileged. The
support has been a blessing to
me and aids in the success of my
duties. With such a caring and
committed City Council, we have
been able to make some positive
improvements to our City. |
|
The improvements to the street
lights were implemented and have
received many positive,
appreciative comments from you.
The lights added a brighter path
on our main thoroughfares, thus
providing a more enjoyable
walking path in the evening
hours.
The ‘Waleska Cares’ Newsletter is a joy to write each
month as an effort to deliver
the business of the city to your
door, especially for those of
you who cannot make it to the
City Council Meetings.
We are excited about our Partnership with Reinhardt
College on the Recycling efforts
on which we are working
together. We are hopeful that
this will become a very
successful effort toward
preserving our environment. I
currently serve on the Cherokee
Chamber of Commerce "Going
Green" Committee and this is
extremely helpful in moving the
City forward in this effort.
Finally, if you have any concerns, comments or
suggestions, please do not
hesitate to contact me at City
Hall at 770-479-2912. I welcome
any calls or visits.
Your Devoted Mayor,
Doris Ann Jones |
